Hey. The salvage business is a tough business. I’ve dealt with regular “Can’t go into the Yard… insurance reasons” and “You Pull It” yards in a number of states for 30 some years. You have to understand that a good door from a Benz isn’t worth crap when someone has ripped it apart to get to a small switch or other gizmo. I’ve seen running engines, radiators, air conditioners taken down by butchers just so that they could get something out that they wanted. There are just too many people who will destroy a 1,000 dollars to get their 5 cent part. The owner knows the market and what their customer needs. If you can’t get the gizmo you want… better believe that he knows that his customers need that gizmo too and the stuff connected to it. You know, you can’t take a bite out of an apple and put the apple back on the display for the next guy and you can’t stick your fork into the buffet tray for a taste. Be reasonable. For me, it’s a parts yard. It’s only salvage when the parts are gone. The guy's OK.

I was trying to scope out decent places with small parts buys to see where I could perhaps get a good engine from for my car's upcoming swap. I cannot believe what a jerk this guy was to me. I simply asked for a few things and never lost my "cool" but he went on rants with circular logic about how he wouldn't sell most of the things I tried asking for. What's the point of an auto salvage yard? No f'n wonder the parking lot is always empty. Treating customers that disrespectfully is evidence of why the place remains a hole in the wall. I'm really disappointed because I thought I found my new go-to place, but I was wrong and will have to keep going 25 miles farther away to get decent service. I would have been a repeat customer and dumped lots of cash there had they not been so vial. Makes me even more glad I went to college. I would not recommend to anyone that doesn't like being regarded as highly as an urinal cake.
